Learn Historical Fencing in Bozeman, MT
For hundreds of years in Western Europe, fencing masters wrote on the best ways to use their weapons of choice either in duels, to survive street fights and to utilize their techniques on the battlefield. These written works can vary from cryptic poems to highly detailed illuminated manuscripts. The majority of these treatises date to the late Middle Ages and the early modern period (1300-1900), and today we put them under the umbrella of HEMA or historical fencing.
Our school focuses on training the longsword system of Johannes Liechtenauer, a 14th century fencing master.
